About Rain Urbana

Rain Urbana is an everyday health journal for people whose weeks are already full. Most of our readers live with long commutes, shared walls, irregular hours and a phone that never quite goes quiet. They do not want a lecture or a miracle plan. They want to understand a topic well enough to make one sensible change, or to know when it is time to ask a professional.

What we write about

Our articles sit in five areas, each with its own shelf on the site:

  • Health & Wellness gathers the broad topics: circulation checks, supplements, quitting smoking, care for older relatives and the technology now found in clinics and laboratories.
  • Life & Style covers the habits that surround health, such as sleep routines, weight and the rhythm of a working week.
  • Rest & Recovery is about naps, noisy bedrooms and getting back on your feet after a poor night.
  • Weight & Movement looks at simple measurements and short bursts of activity that fit around work.
  • Oral Health deals with sensitive teeth, dry mouths and the dental questions people put off asking.

How we approach a topic

We start with a question an ordinary reader might type late at night, then read public health guidance and reputable reference material before writing anything. We explain terms in plain English, avoid figures we cannot stand behind and say clearly where the evidence is mixed. Every article closes with signs that deserve a GP, pharmacist or dentist, because a website cannot examine anyone.

We are not clinicians, and we never present ourselves as such. Our role is to make the background clearer so that conversations with professionals are easier and better informed. If you want the longer version of how a piece comes together, our page Behind the Wellness Notes walks through it.

What stays off these pages

There are no diagnoses, no personal treatment plans and no dosage instructions. We do not sell supplements, devices or programmes. When an article mentions a product type or a service, it is there to explain how it works, not to tell you what to buy. Please read Read This Before Acting before you change anything about your health on the strength of something you read here.

Where to begin

New readers often start with how many hours of sleep you need, since rest tends to shape everything else. If you prefer a guided route, Foundations pairs a handful of articles with one small habit each. And if a word in an article puzzles you, Health Words, Decoded is our running glossary.

Talk to us

We fix mistakes when readers point them out, and many of our newest pieces began as a reader's question. You can reach the team through our contact page. We cannot answer personal medical questions, but we read every message and use them to decide what to write next.
