Privacy Notice
Rain Urbana is a static website. Pages are prepared in advance and delivered as plain files, which means there are no reader accounts, no comment forms and no database of visitors behind the scenes. This notice explains the small amount of personal data that is still involved and what you can do about it.
Who is responsible
The site is run by the Rain Urbana editorial team. For any privacy question or request, write to reach@rainurbana.com.
What we do not do
- We do not use analytics or visitor statistics tools.
- We do not show advertising or allow advertising networks on the site.
- We do not use tracking pixels, fingerprinting or social media plug-ins that follow you around the web.
- No personal data is ever sold, rented out or swapped with anyone.
Your cookie choice
When you first arrive, a small notice asks for your cookie preference. Whichever option you pick is saved in your own browser's local storage so the notice does not reappear on every page. That small note never leaves your device, never reaches us and holds nothing that could single you out. Clearing this site's stored data in your browser wipes it whenever you wish. Technical logs at the hosting end
Like every website, Rain Urbana is delivered by a hosting provider whose servers record basic technical information when a page is requested. This typically includes the IP address, the date and time, the page requested, the browser type and the referring page. These logs exist so the service can run reliably and defend itself against abuse. They are kept for a limited period by the provider and are not used by us to build profiles of readers. We rely on a legitimate interest in keeping the site safe and running as the legal basis for these logs.
When you email us
If you write to us, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and whatever you choose to put in your message. We use this only to read and reply to you, and to improve an article if you have flagged a problem. We keep correspondence for as long as needed to deal with it and then delete it, unless there is a good reason to keep it for longer, such as an unresolved correction. Please do not send us detailed health information; we cannot give personal advice and do not need it.
Your rights
Where the GDPR or a similar data protection law covers you, you are entitled to:
- learn whether Rain Urbana keeps any details about you, plus a copy of whatever we hold;
- have inaccurate data corrected;
- have your details erased once we no longer have a reason to hold them;
- pause or challenge the way we handle those details;
- take information you supplied to us elsewhere in a common, machine-readable file;
- complain to the data protection supervisory authority where you live or work.
Send an email to exercise any of these rights; we reply within the period the law sets.
