Cookies in Plain Words
Cookie notices are often long, legalistic and hard to follow. Ours can be short, because Rain Urbana does very little that involves storing anything on your device.
The short answer
We do not set advertising cookies, analytics cookies or any cookies that follow you from site to site. There are no social media widgets, embedded trackers or visitor statistics tools on these pages.
The single item saved in your browser
When you first visit, a small card asks for your cookie preference. To avoid asking again on every page, your browser saves your answer using a feature called local storage. It works much like a cookie but is never sent back to a server with each page request.
| What is saved | Why | Where it lives | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
| Your yes or no answer to the cookie card | So the card does not keep appearing | Only in your own browser | Until you clear it |
This entry contains no name, email address or identifying code. Nobody on our side can see it, and it is passed to no one.
Whichever button you press
Choosing accept or decline makes no difference to what you can read. Every article and page works in exactly the same way. The only thing your choice changes is whether the card shows up again.
Changing your mind
To reset your choice, clear the stored data for this site in your browser. In most browsers this sits in the privacy or site settings section, usually under a heading such as cookies and site data. The next time you visit, the card will ask again.
Things outside our control
Your browser, operating system or internet provider may keep their own records, and the hosting provider that delivers our pages keeps short technical logs for security. Those are described in our Privacy Notice. If you follow a link to another website, that site's own cookie rules apply.
If we ever change this
Should we add anything that needs a cookie in future, this page will be updated before it goes live, and the cookie card will ask for your permission again where the law requires it.
Questions about cookies or storage can go to the team via our contact page.
